Description
This 1958 Martin D-28 Acoustic guitar was the primary instrument of the distinguished Canadian folk guitarist Red Shea (1938-2008). Shea, who maintained a close professional relationship with Gordon Lightfoot between 1965 and 1975, utilized this guitar extensively. The guitar is featured prominently on several of Lightfoot’s landmark recordings, including The Way I Feel, If You Could Read My Mind, Did She Mention My Name, Sit Down Young Stranger, Summer Side of Life, Sundown, Cold on the Shoulder, Gord’s Gold, Early Morning Rain, and Railroad Trilogy. Serving as Shea’s principal performance and studio instrument, it was used across all these definitive albums as well as in all live appearances. Serial number 159583.

Well used. Headstock previously minorly cracked and restored.
