Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Ancestral Anasazi, Hohokam culture., ca. 1100 - 1400 CE. A massive bi-chrome pottery piece, hand-built using coiling and scraping methods to create the smooth surface, with a form comprised of a round body and short neck, with stylized horned lizards adorning the exterior. The shoulder, waist and lower body have a double band of repeating lizards all walking to the right, separated by white looks like a snake skeleton pattern all on a cream ground. Size: 18" D x 13" H (45.7 cm D x 33.0 cm H)
