Bronze, just under 1" (0.98”) height, delicately cast with integral suspension loop. Generally acknowledged as exchange objects (money) these frequently are encountered with pieces chipped out. If valued as money, it follows that the fragments were used votively as a sacrifice. This example is not so compromised. It is likely a burial votive, interred complete. Found in Ireland, England (Scotland), and Western Europe. Celtic religious ceremonies were officiated by Druids who were spiritual leaders (priests) as well as lawmakers and rulers.
