The name signified that this premium gasoline was not just a regular fuel with additives; it was a high-octane product developed to meet the needs of modern engines, much like aviation fuel. The sign would have been used until 1959 when Texaco transitioned from the "Reg. T.M." marking to the modern Circle R (®) symbol for its trademarks. Grade: 8.75. Very good colour and gloss (minor fade to red). Fine scratches and stains, most notable in red. Chips with oxidation and pitting at mounting holes. Fine 2" scratch to lower right quarter (within the green). Factory flaw within and above the Texaco logo. Pea-sized chip above the 'C' in "Chief".
