1935-1942 and 1946-1955. Reverse-painted glass. General Motors, along with many other dealers, used the generic "Parts and Accessories" phrase for interior dealership displays. We can link this sign to Pontiac by the two horizontal, silver metallic lines flanking the text. Pontiac was known to use this style and frequently paired its silver accents with stark black backgrounds. The "swirly pattern" texture inside the text is period correct for a specific technique where the pattern looks like overlapping, pearlescent geometric swirls of aluminum foil that were spun or turned before being sealed. Production of this sign was halted during WWII. From the Pat and Late Geoff Hopps Collection. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions.
