About the artist: Born July 3 (15), 1892 in the village of Rogoznoe, now Sumy Region. He graduated from the Kharkov Art College (1914). He studied at art studios in Kharkov. Teachers by specialty - M. Fedorov, M. Pestrikov, M. Berkos. Painter, graphic artist. He worked in the industry of easel painting and book graphics. Member of the Association of Artists of Red Ukraine (1922-24). Founder of IZOGART (Section of Fine Arts of the Union of Proletarian Artists), one of the organizers of the Creative Association of Ukrainian National Artists. Member of the Civil War. He taught at the Tashkent Art College (1933-1935) and the Kiev School of Fine Arts (1945-1947). Participated in exhibitions: regional (1926), republican (1927). Participant in the exhibition of film posters "Artists Today" (Kharkov, 1926-1927). In the 20s he painted posters for the 1st Soviet Theater in Kharkov; movie posters for the All-Ukrainian Film Management (now the A. Dovzhenko National Film Studio), among them are "Fatal Letters" (1922), "Nibelungs" (1925), "People and Masks", "Nikolai Dzherya", "Treasure Tips" , "The Ways of Life" (all - 1926). Major works: "Old Tashkent" (1936), "New Tashkent" (1936), "In Bukhara on the Registan" (1937), "Morning in the new Tashkent" (1940), "Evening on the Dnieper" (1946), "Zadniprovsky more "(1947)," Fish place "(1949)," Spring landscape "(1952)," Autumn at the cottage "(1954)," At the monument to Vatutin "(1956)," Monument to Shchors "(1961)," Autumn on a forest lake "(1963); illustrations for books - "Taras Bulba" (1940) by N.
