Hofbauer Byrdes Collection Ruby Red Lead Crystal Footed Oval Dish

Description

This small, footed oval dish is crafted from 24 percent lead crystal by Hofbauer of West Germany, part of the Byrdes collection. The clear crystal body features geometric wheel-cut patterns including starbursts and cross-hatching. A prominent ruby-stained oval medallion is featured on each side, containing a frosted intaglio-cut bird perched on a branch. The dish is finished with a scalloped saw-tooth rim and stands on an oval foot with a starburst-cut base. The item retains its original gold-toned foil manufacturer label which reads HOFBAUER COLLECTION MADE IN W-GERMANY ECHT BLEIKRISTALL OVER 24 PERCENT LEAD CRYSTAL CRISTAL AU PLOMB. Height: 2.25 inches Length: 4.125 inches. The dish is in excellent vintage condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The delicate saw-tooth rim is intact. The ruby staining is vibrant and shows no significant wear. The original foil label is present and well-preserved.
