Antique Peking Chinese 7' x 9'8''

Description

From the short Post-WWI period when Chinese weavers copied Persian pieces which were then in short supply. The dark blue field displays a two level arabesque and forked leaf pattern around a central four palmette motif. Rose-coral border with bitonal oval palmettes and lavishly split leaves. Cotton foundation, medium workshop weave. Good condition. "Sino-Persian" carpet.
