Description
From a central Persian town famous for, as here, extremely fine and perfectly executed carpets, this example displays a shaped ecru field centering a gently lobed doubly pendanted red medallion and ivory octogramme sub-medallion. Barbed and forked leaves and palmettes accent the two level field vinery. Navy spiral volute corners. Red border with escutcheon reserves and palmettes. Cotton foundation, good condition with a close-clipped pile of excellent wool.
