Description
This is a classic pre-WWI NW Persian urban fine weave carpet with a "bookcover" design of allover small Herati motives layered in the rust field, straw-sand medallion and the tonally en suite extended corners. Four radiating palmette quadrilobe sub-medallion. Strip-style straw main border with bracketed rosettes and navy doubly bent barbed leaves. Bisk, short pile. Plain rust strip around the outermost edge. Good condition.
