2pc M. Southwell Patchwork Ceramic Giraffe Figurines

Description

A pair of stylized ceramic giraffe figurines by artist M. Southwell, comprising one adult and one juvenile. Both pieces are constructed from glazed ceramic and feature a hand-painted patchwork motif consisting of blue, green, and yellow squares. Each square is bordered by blue dash marks intended to simulate needlework stitching. The necks, heads, and legs are finished in a cream-white glaze. Yellow glaze accents the ossicones, ears, manes, tails, and hooves. The undersides of the figurines are signed in blue glaze M. Southwell and dated 1995. Small circular vent holes are located on the bellies, and pink felt pads are attached to the underside of each hoof.
