Description
Hand-thrown studio pottery jug by C.P. Craven, produced in the renowned pottery community of Seagrove, North Carolina, one of the most important historic pottery centers in the United States.
This beautifully formed vessel features a traditional Southern folk pottery silhouette with a rounded body, softly flared rim, and aplied handle. The warm speckled glaze reflects the classic Seagrove alkaline and ash-inspired pottery tradition, with subtle variations that highlight the handmade character of the piece.
The interior shows clear throwing lines from the potter's wheel, and the base is stamped "C.P. Craven" along with a Seagrove Pottery mark.
A wonderful example of contemporary North Carolina studio pottery that works beautifully in collected interiors, farmhouse settings, organic modern spaces, or Southern traditional homes.
Perfect as a sculptural object or styled with simple branches, dried hydrangea, or seasonal stems.
