Antique Chinese carved wooden Panel. Gilt wood surface depiction of a pavilion scene of the life of a scholar inside his home, with various vignettes of life around him, Tutors attend children, and servants approach the interior scene. The whole is dominated by a view of trees and tropical foliage, creating a regular pattern of open work to actually allow this panel to ventilate the air.
Beautifully carved panel in one piece of wood. Framed to hang. The measurements are 16.75" by 21" tall, and 1" thick.
