Description
This exceptional 19th-century sideboard is a masterclass in George III neoclassical design, echoing the refined elegance of both Sheraton and Hepplewhite. Crafted from rich, honey-toned mahogany, the piece features a classic serpentine "bow-front" silhouette that offers a graceful, architectural presence to any dining room. The sideboard is adorned with intricate satinwood cross-banding and delicate boxwood stringing throughout. The central drawer features a superb marquetry cartouche depicting a fan and floral spray in exotic woods.
The main drawer opens to reveal a felt-lied interior. The curved ends house a deep "cellarette" style drawer on one side and two drawers on the other.
The piece stands on six elegant square tapered legs ending in spade feet, providing a light, airy footprint despite the substantial storage capacity.
This piece is elevated by a removeable double-tier-solid brass gallery with urn-form finial.
