Pair of Vintage Chinese Cherry Amber Foo Dogs Temple Fu Lions Figurines

This is a set of two antique Chinese carved cherry amber resin figurines or bookends. They are called Foo Dogs or Temple Fu Lions, traditionally used as protective guardians in Feng Shui.

These "Shishi" (Guardian Lions) are meant to protect a home or temple from negative energy and are often sold as a pair representing yin (female) and yang (male). The male lion has a ball under his foot and the female has a cub.

These are a large pair measuring 8" x 6" x 3.5" and weighing 3.5 lbs. each. Excellent condition, no damage. Perfect for a Chinese, Asian, or Chinoiserie decor.
