Description
Offered is a pair of copperplate engravings on chain-linked paper. The engravings are from Mathurin Jacques
work entitled Ornithologie ou Methode, published in Paris by Jean-Baptiste Bauche in 1760. The images are drawn and engraved by Francois Martinet.
The first engraving Tom. V. Pl. XII depicts a Perdrix-de-mer (sea partridge) and a Rare d'eau (water Rail). The next engraving, Pl. IV, depicts four varieties of Tanager birds.

Condition Notes: Both engravings are in good condition. There are a couple of small foxing spots on the Tanager engraving. They are matted under 8-ply conservation grade matting and framed with UV filtering conservation-grade glass.
