Murano Glass Urn Signed Seguso.
Offered is a large blown Murano glass urn with stylized handles signed Seguso.
This urn or vessel is possibly the work of Archimede Seguso who was at the helm of Seguso Murano in the 1930's.
This lovely vase was executed using a technique called Scavo which imitates the appearance
of ancient glass objects found in archaeological excavations. It involves applying a mixture of powders, such as carbonates and nitrates, to the surface of the glass, which fuses when heated to about 800°C. This process creates a weathered effect, giving the glass a dusty patina that resembles glass from underground.
This stunning vase can be used to display your fresh flowers or as a cocktail or bookcase accessory!
