Fulvio Bianconi (1915 - 1996) was one of the most important revivers of Murano glass design in the 20th century. He started his career as an enamel painter for Cappelin at the age of 15 - an experience that shaped him throughout his life. In the 1930s he began a livelong collaboration with the Milanese publishing houses Mondadori, Bompiani and Garzanti as a graphic designer and illustrator. Back in Murano 1946 Fulvio Bianconi studied the art of glassmaking. Here he met Paolo Venini. The collaboration of Bianconi and Paolo Venini marked a breaking point in the history of Venini and Muranese art glass. Several iconic works such as the Figure della Commedia dell'Arte, the Tiepolo, the Fazzoletto, the Sirene and the Pezzati were developed by Fulvio Bianconi. He has always worked as an freelancing artist and beside his 40 years lasting collaboration with Venini he made designs for other glass companies as there are Gino Cenedese, Mazzega, Vetreria Vistosi, Galliano Ferro, Robert Niederer (Switzerland), Segusi Vetri d'Arte and Toso Vetri d'Arte.
