Description
This set of 5 risque ceramic shot glasses and mug is crafted from glazed earthenware, likely produced in Japan. Each piece is designed in the form of a barrel; the shot glasses feature molded vertical grain and horizontal banding to simulate wood staves, while the larger mug features molded circular motifs around the upper and lower rims. The handles are the primary decorative element, sculpted as three-dimensional nude female figures in various poses, appearing to climb or cling to the sides of the barrels. The entire set is finished in a uniform, high-gloss tan monochrome glaze. The circular bases are unglazed and appear plain.
