Footed shank Lion entry knob...maker unknown but dating from the 1860s...cast in lead (see lots 78 and 97) and then brass plated...this was likely the model for the Kruzinger patented lion offered by MCCC/R&R in 1870...the rosette is not original but fits--and is hard to find...this knob offered as found...few are extant and it represents a key piece of American hardware evolution.
