Description
This collection features a variety of early to mid-20th-century items, headlined by a Davis Automatic Inkstand. This writing accessory consists of a heavy, square-cut clear glass base with a central reservoir and a dark-patinated metal collar. The metal collar is embossed with the text NEW YORK - THE DAVIS AUTOMATIC INKSTAND and PAT. DEC 23, 1913 APRIL. The lot includes a hand-carved briar wood tobacco pipe bowl and shank, missing its stem. The shank bears the stamp BRUYERE GARANTIE, and the bowl features a relief-carved scene of a stag in a forest, accented with metal ferrule bands. A keystone-shaped commemorative plaque, likely cast bronze or brass, is embossed with 1744 Market Street Phila. Pa. Shannon & Co. Hardware. Advertising glassware is represented by a square amber glass ashtray featuring the logo for Best Western Worldwide Lodging. Also included is a faceted amber glass jar with a dark brown molded lid featuring a decorative geometric border. Completing the assortment is a black leather bifold wallet with an embossed crown and K logo, housed in its retail box with a suggested price tag of $44.00, and a small cardboard storage box with packing paper.
