This collection comprises various shooting accessories and early 20th-century military ephemera. Included is a Winchester Leader 12-gauge paper shot shell box, marked for 2 3/4-inch shells with 3 1/4 drams DuPont smokeless powder and 1 1/4 ounces of No. 5 chilled shot. Accompanying the box are two fired Winchester brass 12-gauge shotgun shells with visible headstamps. The lot features a 1904 edition of the Firing Regulations for Small Arms manual for the United States Army and the Organized Militia, published by the Government Printing Office, Washington. The manual contains detailed illustrations of bolt-action rifle mechanisms and shooting postures. Completing the collection are two boxes of Hoppe?s Gun Cleaning Patches produced by Frank A. Hoppe, Inc. of Philadelphia, including a No. 1 box for .22 caliber and a No. 4 box for .38-.45 caliber or 410-20 gauge with a 1940 copyright date. A stack of original circular cloth patches is also present.
