SERIAL NUMBER: 14131. BAREL: 3 1/8". CALIBER: .22 RF. MANUFACTURED: circa 1860s. A beautifully crafted miniature side-swing derringer. This example is among the smallest .22 RF derringers ever produced. It was designed as an ultra-compact “vest pocket” pistol. Marked "E.ALLEN & Co WORCHESTER MASS" and "ALLEN’S PAT.MCH 7.1865". It features a half octagonal and half round barrel, birds head style grips, and bead front sight. It swivels to the right for loading. CONDITION: Very Good. The metal surfaces have very minor pitting about. The bore is a little dull with sharp rifling. The swing out mechanism with extractor functions well. the grips have a few minor dings.
