[REGICIDES]: GREY THOMAS: (c.1623-1657) Lord Grey of Groby, English Parliamentarian politician and regicide, the second signatory to King Charles I´s death warrant on 29th January 1649. A good D.S. Tho: Grey, by Lord Grey and three other regicides, one page, folio, Westminster, November 1651. The manuscript document is addressed to Thomas Fauconberg, Receiver General of the Public Revenue, and is a warrant issued by the members of the Committee for the Public Revenues to pay John Watson the sum of twenty pounds, owed to him for the year ending at Michaelmas 1651. Signed by Grey at the foot and countersigned by Humphrey Edwards (1582-1658) English Parliamentarian politician and regicide (the twenty-third signatory to the King´s death warrent) and a commissioner of the High Court of Justice, Nicholas Love (1608-1682) English lawyer and regicide, Henry Mildmay (c.1593-1668) English Parliamentarian politician and regicide, and Denis Bond (1588-1658) English Parliamentarian politician and merchant who served as a member of the Council of State during the English Civil War. A manuscript receipt acknowledging the payment appears to the verso, signed by Watson and dated 21st January 1652. With blank integral leaf.
