BENES EDVARD: (1884-1948) Czech statesman who served as President of Czechoslovakia 1935-38, 1945-48 and also led the Czechoslovak government-in-exile from 1939-45 during World War II. An excellent vintage signed sepia 6.5 x 9.5 photograph of Benes in a formal head and shoulders pose. Photograph by Centropress of Prague and bearing their credit stamp to the verso. Signed by Benes in fountain pen ink to the lower border, also adding the place and date, Prague, 23rd May 1937, in his hand beneath his signature. About EX
