A very nice French Napoleonic era "National Guard" Brass Lion-Pommel Saber in good to very good condition. The slightly curved blade has a thin narrow partial fuller along the spine on both sides and a wide shallow fuller below on both sides. The right side has a flour-de-lis and a large gilt inscription "Garde Nationale". The opposite side features gilded engraved arms motifs, foliate scrolls, and a flour-de-lis at the ricasso. The guard is inscribed "Schley".
