Description
A young Bette Davis writes: Dear Mrs. Brooks ? You certainly were a darling to write me. and all I can say is wish you were out her to enjoy this lovely perpetual spring weather and also to make me some clothes. Now?y I only had a lot of money I?d send for you to come out and be my personal dress maker. Wouldn?t that be fun? Haven?t started my picture yet. Expect to meet anytime now ? the title ?Gambling Daughters? is deceiving. I really have a very sweet part and also outside of pictures mother and I are leading a very reserved existence ? so you mustn?t worry about us. Hope you have a very happy winter. And that sometime in the not to far away we?ll be able to see you again. Love Bette. See 2nd picture for the provenance on the letter.
