Description
Lot of Three Sword Scabbards: A group of three older reproduction scabbards as follows: Two identical early reproduction scabbards for the U.S. Regulation Model 1850 Foot Officer's or Staff & Field Officer's sword. These blued steel and brass slightly curved scabbards probably date to the early 1970's and have some real age on them showing tarnished and oxidized brass furniture. For a collector with one of these swords without a scabbard these would make a wonderful accompaniment for display. These two measure 33 3/8" tall from drag to throat. The throat measures 1 3/16" long and 3/8" wide at the back of the blade. The third scabbard is for an unknown straight bladed sword. The length is 36 3/8" tall, 1 ½" wide with two carrying rings and a very large drag. Perhaps for a European sword it appears to be nickel plated with a copper finish. All collectors have found swords without scabbards. Even if not age correct its always better to have a scabbrd for an empty blade. Here is your chance. Something out there fits it!
