The item features a circular cast brass dome decorated with high-relief ornamental motifs, including fleur-de-lis, floral rosettes, and foliate scrolls. The central ring of the bell dome is embossed with the inscription CONNELL'S PATENT and is flanked by the letters M and S. A mechanical striker assembly is housed within the dome and is activated by a hanging metal pull chain. This chain terminates in a faceted clear glass orb handle with metal mountings. The entire bell assembly is mounted to a tall pine wood block stand with a tiered octagonal base for display.
