19th Century Neoclassical Style Gilt Bronze Sconces - a Pair

Description

Set of Two 3-Candle 19th Century Wall Sconces. Each with a classical vase pediment, draped with gathered laurel leaves and berries, standing on a leaf adorned spreading plinth. The tapering bodies with laurel swags, rising leaves and hare bells, finished with leaf and flower terminals. The twin branches sweep up to stiff leaved dupped drip pans, holding fluted and beaded candle holders, with leaf rims. Heavy and good quality. Date circa 1870.
