Description
Pair of Japanese Edo-period wooden Shinto priest figures. Carved in jointed wood and attached carved features with glass eyes. Seated on modern gilt-formed sculpture bases. Seated figures with opposing legs in a downward position. Traces of gilt and polychrome are still on some areas. Portraits of Two male figures of different ages are represented with glass eyes inset. The size of each is 27" tall by 22" wide and 14" deep. The stand is 7.5" high. Carved in the late 17th -early 18th century.
