This is a stunning antique Japanese Imari porcelain charger dating to the Meiji Period (late 19th century). Measuring a generous 14 inches in diameter and 3 inches in height, this deep plate features a classic "Imari" palette of deep cobalt blue underglaze with vibrant iron-red and gilt overglaze accents.

The central medallion depicts a traditional flower basket (hanakago) set against a crisp white ground. The wide border is decorated with alternating panels of chrysanthemums and stylized floral motifs within a rich cobalt field. The rim is elegantly scalloped in a foliate design. The reverse is finished with underglaze blue floral sprays and a circular foot rim showing the characteristic orange-toned oxidation of period firing.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Minimal shelf wear to the base and very light rubbing to the gilt, consistent with age. Dimensions: 14" W x 3" H. Note: Display stand not included.
