Description

Mid 19th century Staffordshire pottery basket dog modeled in the traditional seated form, holding a flower-filled basket in its mouth. The oversized scale and raised base give this example strong presence, while retaining the charm associated with early Staffordshire figures. A sought-after form among collectors. Very Good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. As with most early Staffordshire, there is no maker's mark.
