19th Century Taghkanic (Taconic) Swing Handle Basket - Taconic Hills, Columbia County, New York. Laterally wide double rim (thicker laterally than horizontally), hand cut single piece handle with two carved eyelets (ears) woven into sides, double lashed crisscrossed rims, and high/large kicked-up bottom. Outstanding dry surface. Damaged area to lower side. Measures 9.5 inches in diameter x 5.5 inches tall to rim.
