Antique Pennsylvania Paint Decorated Plank Seat Farmhouse Rocking Chair, 1850's

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Found in the Ephrata area.

Made and paint decorated circa 1840-1860. The paint decoration is reminiscent of the work of George Nees, a chair painter from Sporting Hill, PA (near Manheim).

Original Vibrant green paint, with a folk art style rose decoration on the crest rail. I really enjoy the shade of apple green in the paint.

Size: 19" wide, 29" deep (including rockers), 36" tall. 15" seat height.

Condition: Excellent original condition. Untouched surface. Retains the original decorations, and the paint. Well worn from time, age and use. Lots of age and use and wear marks, scratches, and scuffs. See pictures.
