A Antique Folk Art Redware Plate, by Stahl's Pottery, Powder Valley, Pa, Circa 1930's
Attributed to Stahl's Pottery of Powder Valley, PA, circa 1934-1942
Powder Valley is near Zionsville in Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County, PA
Issac and Thomas Stahl made pottery from 1934 to 1942.
This piece is unmarked, however, we have handled several pieces of Stahl's pottery, and can comfortably attribute this piece to their workshop.
Stahl's Pottery is very desirable in the Pennsylvania Folk Art collector's circle.
A Redware Pie Plate with a Toggle type Wheel decoration on the edge near the top rim. A glazed interior with manganese specks in the glaze, and an unglazed exterior.
Size: 7 1/4" across, 2" tall.
Condition: Original as found condition. Old glaze chip on the rim. Use and wear marks from age and use.
