This collection consists of precision machinist and pattern-making tools manufactured by the L.S. Starrett Co. of Athol, Massachusetts. The assortment features several outside micrometers, primarily from the No. 436 series. Identifiable models include a 1 to 2 inch No. 436, a 4 to 5 inch No. 436, a 5 to 6 inch No. 436, and a 6 to 7 inch No. 436. The micrometer frames are finished in a black crinkle enamel with satin chrome graduated barrels and spindles. Several of the micrometer frames bear the etched owner initials LTH. Also included is a large pair of firm-joint outside calipers stamped with the maker's mark and location. The lot is completed by three steel rules, two of which are specialty pattern-maker's shrink rules. These rules are marked SHRINK 5-32 IN. TO FT. and SHRINK 1-10 IN. TO FT., featuring standard fractional graduations. All tools are constructed of steel.
