Born on February 15, 1952, in Stepne, Poltava Oblast. Graduated from the B. Grekov Odessa State Art School (1970?1973). Graduated from the Gogol Mirgorod State Ceramics College (1975).Since 1988, she has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1995, she was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.Galina Ridna's name and her works have long been imprinted in the history of Ukrainian art. However, this recognition was preceded by a long creative search during her studies at the Odessa Art School, the Mirgorod Ceramics College, and while living in Canada. But the call of her roots and a thirst for sincere communication brought the already renowned artist back to Poltava, where she tirelessly develops new, distinctive painting styles. Since 1988, she has been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, and since 1995, an Honored Artist of Ukraine.Galina Ridna works reveal a powerful, eloquent, and undisguised individuality, which grows from the reinterpretation and artistic reproduction of folk artistic practices, which emerge as the author's vessels of pure folk spirit.Her works are held in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
