1891 Berlin - 1977 Berlin - "Woman's Head" - (1919) woodcut/paper. 42 x 32.5 cm, 59 x 46.5 cm. 69 x 59 cm (dimensions with frame). Titled lower left: Frauenkopf. Signed and dated lower left: Max Kaus 1919. Inscribed lower right: 10. Handprint. Fully visible under glass, framed. Minimally browned. Slightly brown-stained on the lower right edge. Max Kaus attended the School of Applied Arts and Crafts in Berlin-Charlottenburg in 1908. Stimulated and inspired as a student of Heckel, he created lithographs and woodcuts. 1928 G??nther-Wagner Prize Hanover. He has held a full professorship since 1949.
