AMERICAN "NINE PATCH" PIECED QUILT, hand-stitched, completed in polychrome print and woven fabrics with solid white fabric, 135 pattern blocks alternating with plain whole blocks to create an overall latticed pattern, surrounded by a wide floral print fabric border, having diagonal straight-line and grid quilting, applied multi-color, possibly Trenton, tape binding, four-paneled plain muslin backing. Second quarter 19th century. 85" x 98".

Center top with several scattered losses to print / woven fabrics in pattern blocks, otherwise in very good overall condition with light toning, some stains and spots, border with more moderate toning along edges, backing with some toning and stains.
