Description

An exquisite Dutch Baroque wall clock, likely dating from the 18th century. The clock features a dark stained wooden case, ornately carved with swirling motifs and decorative elements. The clock face is adorned with Roman numerals and intricate metallic accents. Topped with allegorical figures in relief, a prominent sphere, and elegant metalwork detailing, it showcases significant craftsmanship. Two pear-shaped brass weights hang below, attached by chains. This piece reflects the opulence and detailed artistry characteristic of the Baroque period. The case appears to be wood, possibly oak or walnut, with brass or bronze embellishments. The overall style is reminiscent of Zaanse or Friesian clocks. The Latin inscription "NU EERST SYN TIJD" translates to "NOW IS THE TIME".
