Description

A pair of hand-carved bone figurines depicting two Chinese elders in traditional rural attire. One figure represents a bearded man with a smiling expression, holding a gnarled wooden-style staff and a pipe. The companion figure features hair pulled back in a bun and carries a woven basket over one arm and a fan in the opposite hand. Both figures are dressed in traditional tunics and trousers. The material is cream-colored bone exhibiting a natural grain and aged surface characteristics. Each figurine is mounted on a rectangular, dark-stained wooden plinth with stepped corners. No maker marks, signatures, or inscriptions are visible on the figures or the bases.
