Description
This mid-to-late 20th-century hand-quilted patchwork quilt features the traditional Lone Star pattern, also known as the Star of Bethlehem. The central design is an eight-pointed star composed of concentric rings of diamond-shaped fabric in navy, purple, lavender, pink, and red. The outer tips of the star alternate between yellow and green diamonds. The star is set against an off-white ground that is decorated with intricate hand-quilted motifs including circular, scrolled, and floral patterns. The quilt is finished with a double border consisting of an inner blue floral print band and an outer solid pink band. The reverse side features a contrasting vintage floral print with yellow roses and pink blossoms on a white ground, framed by wide pink borders. The item is hand-constructed with small, even quilting stitches throughout. Materials are likely cotton or a cotton-blend fabric with internal batting. Dimensions: Not specified.
