Description
74 x 94 A hand-pieced quilt top featuring large eight-pointed star blocks, a variant of the LeMoyne Star or Lone Star pattern. This unfinished textile is constructed from a wide variety of printed and solid-color fabrics characteristic of the 1930s to 1940s feed sack era, primarily cotton with some potential cotton-rayon or silk blends. The scrappy star motifs incorporate small-scale floral prints, polka dots, ginghams, checks, stripes, and paisley patterns. These blocks are set into a grid separated by wide pink sashing with light blue cornerstone squares. The construction is hand-sewn throughout, and the piece remains in an unfinished state without batting, backing, or binding. Raw seam allowances and hand-stitching are visible on the reverse side.
