The piece is constructed in a horizontal strip-style pattern, featuring rows of varied vertical fabric patches alternating with continuous bands of blue and gray striped ticking-style fabric. The patchwork incorporates an assortment of period fabrics, including floral calicos, plaids, polka dots, and solids, typical of the 1930s through 1950s. The quilt is hand-quilted with a simple running stitch in a horizontal wave pattern. The reverse is composed of a plain cream-colored cotton backing with several visible repair patches, including one featuring a red and white checked fabric.
