Description
(1851 - 1930) American novelist, poet, historian, lecturer, and public speaker. He wrote over 100 serials and books, and more than 1000 short stories and articles, which were published in the Saturday Journal, the Banner Weekly, Golden Days, Argosy, Good News, Golden Hours, Young People, and elsewhere. He also contributed thirteen stories to the Nickel Library. Important small notebook, 42pp. 8vo., Browne's personal compilation of about 70 of his printed poems pasted within, nearly every work bearing his pencil corrections and additions to the printed text. Also present is separate page in his hand bearing a preface to one of his works, this also with his pencil corrections, along with three publications bearing some of his work and four postcards promoting his works, his candidacy for public office, etc. Cover to the notebook is chipped and a page disbound, generally very good.
