Description
(1875 - 1965) French physician and theologian, a specialist in tropical medicine. He received the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize for his philosophy of 'Reverence for Life', expressed most famously in his founding and sustaining the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Lambarene.
