Description
Lot of five ‘Widow’s Mites’, barbaric, small bronze coins minted in or near Jerusalem around 75 B.C. to make up for the shortage of the Prutah of Alexander coin. This was the lowest denomination of coinage to circulate during the life of Jesus, named after the poor widow mentioned in Luke 21:1-4. Each piece is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Forecastle Treasures.
