Description
A fine late 18th century American Chippendale cherry chest of drawers, the molded overhanging top above two short drawers over three full-width graduated long drawers, constructed with hand cut dovetail joinery and retaining an attractive warm cherry surface with a rich aged patina developed through generations of use, the case fitted with period style brass swan neck bail pulls and shaped brass escutcheons, resting on bracket feet; 40½ in. high, 39¼ in. wide, 22½ in. deep. Some wear to the surface consistent with age and use; minor separation to the back right of the skirt; old repairs to the top; some replaced boards to the drawers.
