Description
The interpretation of this bronze varies, from the Yamuna Goddess to a container of cosmetics. As Yamuna, she is the personification of the sacred river. Yamuna stands on a tortoise. As Surasundari, a celestial maiden, she embodies beauty and purification.
She holds a mirror in her left hand. In her right hand is a cup or bowl, symbolising inner and outer purification. Her clothing is richly decorative, as is her abundant jewellery. The tortoise is very richly decorated as well.

Condition
The stopper which covers a hole at the top of her head is gone. A similar hole is where the head of the turtle would be positioned. There are minor casting flaws, and the base is not level.
